Carrot, Apple and Parsnip Purée

Carrots and parsnips are a wonderful combination. Add the extra sweetness of apple and you’ve got a taste your baby is sure to enjoy.
Ingredients:
5 medium carrots
2 medium parsnips
2 medium Gala or Fuji apples
Directions:
- Peel and chop carrots into small cubes. Steam for about 10 minutes.
- Peel and chop parsnips and add to steamer. Steam until tender, about 15 minutes longer.
- Peel, core and chop apples and add to steamer for the last 5 to 7 minutes, until all are soft and cooked through.
- Purée, adding enough water to reach the texture of a smooth, thick soup. Makes about 3 cups (750 mL).

A good source of vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K, fiber, calcium, iron, potassium, and some B vitamins.
