Starting Solids

expert tipcanada (Apr.22.09)

Your wee one is ready to start solid foods! Start with pureed vegetables such as sweet potatoes, squash, turnip or beets—the consistency should be thin. Only try one new food at a time. Go slowly with food introduction and watch for any adverse reactions, such as rashes, mood changes, ear infections or runny nose. Savour your baby’s first expressions to new foods.
