Before the boy-in-the-balloon hoax, for most of us, the thought of air balloons conjured up fantasies of faraway lands and new adventures—probably inspired by the classic film Around the World in 80 Days. And yet, for so many of us, a trip around the world is out of reach. Well now there’s a smart, new website that promises to show your kids the wonders of the world for the price of a theme park pass—and from the safety of your home.
At the Wonder Rotunda virtual, educational theme park, children create a virtual self to travel by hot air balloon over the Serengeti, zip-line through a tropical rainforest, explore the North Pole and dive the Great Barrier Reef. Some of the park’s other adventures include learning to make a difference in the world and circling the globe to learn about the work of the United Nations.
Designed for kids aged 7 to 12, Wonder Rotunda aims to get kids thinking about the world, what they're passionate about and how they might make their mark some day. Yet they don’t have to go it alone. Parents can also create their own personal character and join in on the fun.
A one year unlimited access pass to the Park is $45. Passes can be renewed annually for $35.
