BabyHawk Mei Tai Carrier, $89. Available at Gorgeousbaby.
Being a new mom for the third time, I thought I knew everything about baby carriers. I've tried wraps, packs, slings and pouches all of which, even though very different in design, seemed to be quite similar in comfort level for me and baby. So when I was presented with the BabyHawk carrier my first question was, "Can this carrier be any different from all of the other styles I have tried?"
My resounding answer is yes!
The BabyHawk first grabbed my attention with its beautiful front pattern. Other baby carriers seem to be quite boring while this one begs to be noticed. The carrier wraps around the body like a secure wrap but, because of the large front panel, takes half the time to strap up.
The colorful front panel is also a large pocket that fits my wallet, keys, cell phone and various other objects my two older children pick up during our walks. I tried this product out vigorously -- taking it camping and using it in a baby-and-me dance class -- and have yet to find much to complain about.
Any issues I did have were when I didn't strap it on tightly enough. When the carrier is strapped on properly, the weight is distributed evenly across my body and makes for easy carrying. I would definitely recommend the BabyHawk to any mom who wants comfort and refuses to skimp on style.
