* We’ve been able to bring you this sweet info thanks to our partnership with JOHNSON'S® Baby.
With a little prep time, leaving the house with our bundle of joy won’t require military strategy. Print off this checklist – and keep it handy. (It also prevents us from micromanaging Dad when he decides to give us a break.)
The Basics:
- Diapers (for infants, we recommend one for every hour you plan to be out.)
- Wipes/washcloths (for more than just wiping bums! Bring more than you think you’ll need.)
- Plastic bags (for sealing soiled diapers and clothes)
- 1-2 changes of clothes
- PENATEN® Medicated Cream (for treating diaper rash)
- PENATEN® Daily Clear Protection Cream (to protect baby from wetness and irritants that can cause those nasty rashes)
The Bells and Whistles
- 1-2 soothers in a plastic bag (if your child takes one – we also recommend a soother clip)
- A comfort toy or lovey
- At least one toy (consider a toy leash to avoid losing the toy while out)
- A teething ring or toy for wee teethers to chew on
- Baby Sunscreen (but remember, only use this when baby hits the 6 month mark!)
Food and Drinks:
Infants
- Bottles and formula (if you’re not breastfeeding)
Babies and Toddlers
- A sippy cup of water or milk (formula or breastmilk if under a year)
- Containers of baby food and/or snacks
- An ice pack for keeping perishables cold
- A spoon
- A bib
For Mom (or Dad)
- An extra shirt (Trust us – anything can happen.)
- Snacks and water (we’ve tried to live on crackers, but a granola bar usually provides more sustenance)
- Hand cream (all that hand washing dries mama’s hands!)
- Lip balm or gloss
- Sunglasses (to shield us from the paparazzi – oh wait, we’re not famous)
- Wallet
- Cellphone
- An index card with emergency numbers listed
- Keys (Oh, it seems obvious, but after a night of two-hour naps, you’ll thank us for this)
