Spa Baby tub, $40. Available at Toys R Us.
The first time I put Harriet in the Spa Baby tub, she liked it. I think she really enjoys the warm water all around her and her eyes get really big!
I have used a standard-style baby bath tub with her, as well, but she doesn't like it as much, because I think she gets cold.
That said, there are some pros and cons to this tub:
Cons: I find that Harriet slips around a lot, especially when she was smaller, so I have to keep one hand on her at all times so her face and head don't slip under. Washing anything below the armpits is a challenge. The directions show you how to pick up the child up so you can wash the bum, etc., but it is not as easy as the picture makes it look and it is impossible to clean inside her creases if you can't put her down or lay her back. You can reach down while she is submerged and wash her, but it is a bit awkward and difficult. I usually lay her down on a towel after her bath if I need to clean her crevices or in between her toes.
Pros: Washing her hair and face is a breeze and she enjoys this. The Spa Baby is the best tub I have seen to keep babies warm during bath time, which is always a challenge. I also like it because I can bathe her in our bathtub and even on the floor in her room (which is helpful since we have a very small bathroom), during which I turn on a heater for extra warmth, then quickly lay Harriet on her change table and do all the post-bath stuff.
I am still using the Spa Baby tub and would say it is my preferred method of bathing.
