In the heat of summer when baby is just nursing or formula feeding, I often get asked, "Should I give my baby water?" The answer varies - but if your baby is in a very hot environment, a couple of capfuls of water is fine. Be careful about filling up tummies with water, otherwise baby will not get the same signal to eat. You may also find your breast-fed baby wants to nurse more frequently, and your body will accommodate this - but make sure you drink lots of water yourself.
