You already know that for a good night's rest you should place baby to sleep on his or her back, on a firm mattress, with no loose blankets, and in a smoke-free home. Another idea: run a fan to assist with ventilation in baby's room, which will reduce the risks of SIDS and do double-duty as white noise.
