When you're trying to conceive, this app may help. By logging your menstrual cycle and other biological data like basal temperature and date of ovulation, the app will create a two-month forecast of your fertility cycle based on the Fertility Awareness Method so you can schedule and plan your baby-making sessions. Kind of takes the fun out of things, but sometimes you just gotta know. iTunes, free
BabyCenter My Pregnancy Today

Simply enter your due date and the app does the rest: day-by-changes body changes, weekly fetal development images, programmed and programmable to-dos, videos, nutrition guide and progress tracker. When you live with a BlackBerry attached to your hip, it’s nice to know it’s there for you when you really need it. You know, like when you start having contractions. Forget searching for pen and paper, just hit any key on your device to start the BirthBerry timer, and click again when the contraction ends. The app will calculate the intervals between contractions and keep a record of how long you’ve been in labor, so you know when best to head to the hospital. You can also set up parameters for when BirthBerry should call your partner, email friends or notify your doctor. And when baby arrives, you can send an email with vital stats and photo to family and friends. BlackBerry, $5.
Baby Names Plus
With 25,000 baby names to choose from, you’re thumbs will get quite the workout searching Baby Names Plus. You can search by gender, by origin, by popularity and by trend, learn the pronunciation and meaning of each name, create a favorites list of names and share your findings via email or Twitter. iTunes, $3.
If you live and breathe by your iPhone, and of course your new baby, Total Baby will rock your world. The all-in-one app lets you track diaper changes, nursing, sleeping, bathing, feeding and anything else you’d like to customize. You’ll never have to remember which breast baby nursed on last, how many ounces she took in during bottle feeding, what kind of “output” she had during the day, and how long she napped. Helpful, since as we all know, that brain power tends to slide during pregnancy and has a hard time coming back. iTunes, $5
Similar to Total Baby but for the BlackBerry, this sister app to the BirthBerry lets you log sleep, diaper changes, nursing, temperature and medication. Set the timer or add details manually, filter stats by date or event, keep a record of which breast you last nursed on, stay up to date on how much baby drank and much more. BlackBerry, $8.
