Traveling with kids is tough – even before leaving. If you’re making your own reservations, look into whether your selected airports have children’s facilities.
When my brother had a stopover in Zurich, he was amazed at the offerings: a huge kids’ area made up of three rooms: the first a reception/play place; the second another play area with assorted ride-on toys, train tracks, books and video games, as well as three changing stations; and the third a kitchen with sinks, microwaves, dining set, high chairs and boosters, bibs and cutlery, as well as a washroom with more changing stations.
Although sometimes we have no choice at to which airport we depart from, stop over at or land at, it’s a good idea to see if the airport has any children’s amenities. If not, be prepared to pack your own entertainment for what could be a long ride.
