This Preggatini mingles the soft flavor of apricot with sweetened ginger and gentle white grape juice, which is by itself a recommended beverage during the first weeks of pregnancy. Additionally, this drink includes a dash of ground clove — another ancient remedy for pregnant ladies experiencing nausea.
Ingredients:
21/2 ounces white grape juice
3 ounces apricot nectar
1 ounce ginger-infused simple syrup
1/4 teaspoon ground clove
Directions:
Pour grape juice, apricot nectar, ginger-infused simple syrup (recipe page 11), and most of the ground clove into a mixing glass filled with ice. Shake vigorously, then strain into a martini glass. Garnish with the remaining ground clove atop the drink.
De-Virginize for Dad: Reduce the grape juice by 11/2 ounces, then add 1 ounce gin and 1/2 ounce ginger liqueur.
