I have to say that The In a Pinch Back-Up Plan is a great little reference book for parents and babysitters everywhere! I didn't know I needed this until I laid my hands on it.
This slim, but detailed reference book is a terrific way to convey the routines of the house and highlight all the unique things about your kids' likes and dislikes and personality. I simply filled in the blanks to questions and prompts, and now I hand it over to my babysitter before I leave. This is especially useful if you have more than one caretaker for your kids over time.
Along with holding important information about allergies, medications and emergency contact info, other practical details -- like location of extra clothes, toothbrush color and where your child's favorite stuffy lives -- provide the babysitter with that extra knowledge to smoothly run through your routines. The book even has craft suggestions, song lyrics and snack ideas. And I really like the reminders and tips sprinkled throughout.
Although I prefer to write the details in pencil because I can see how as my son grows I may need to change and update some of the info, there is an enclosed CD to print new pages. This gets a 9 on 10!
