Teaching our kids about food and where it comes from should start early. Getting them interested could actually make them less picky when it comes to the offerings at the dinner table. If, for example, your toddler sees how carrots grow, maybe gets to pick them out of the ground at a farmers market (or your garden if possible!), he will be more inclined to eat them. If you involve your toddler in meal preparation, he will feel proud of his contribution and, again, be more likely to eat it.
