As with most things on the web, there’s so much online information on yoga that it can be too overwhelming to find a place to anchor. To help, here’s a list of my favourite sites and blogs, all of which have inspired me and my own blog.
- Yoga Journal
This is a standard for anyone studying yoga seriously. Though some have complained that Yoga Journal has commercialized everything ‘true’ about yoga, I can tell you as an advanced instructor that I appreciate the wealth of well-informed knowledge in YJ’s articles and how accessible they are to all levels.
- YogaDork
Less mainstream than Yoga Journal, YogaDork is a great aggregator of yoga news and is a favourite of many a yogi. YogaDork can be irreverent, but it’s always current. If you want the pulse of yoga on the street, this is it.
- Elephant Journal
This is by far my favourite resource for connecting with a larger community of people interested in exploring how yoga on the mat can support our lives off the mat. Real stories by real people.
Plus, here are a few blogs worth checking out:
- It’s All Yoga, Baby
- Chai & Yoga
- Daily Cup of Yoga
- Namaste Bitches
Asia Nelson is a certified Advanced Yoga Instructor, Yoga Teacher Trainer and Director of Pranalife Yoga. She has taught over two thousand hours of yoga, specializing in taking people from good to great. Her philosophy is simple: Yoga is more than a system that has given me a powerful body. It has shown me how to change my mind, heart, and life. That yoga – the kind you play with on the mat in order to change your life off the mat – is what fuels my teaching.
