My New Favourite Yoga Move

I've been making time for yoga more regularly (as promised), and seem to learn a new pose almost every class. My current favourite is such a great stretch, I'm convinced you'll love it too.

It's called happy baby pose. Doesn't the name alone get you feeling giddy? This amazing lower back release helps open hips and relieve neck strain, so try adding it to your practice after a day of staring at the computer screen to reap an abundance of benefits.

Here's how to get into it at home:

1. Start by lying with your back flat on your mat, pulling your knees into your chest.
2. Make sure your feet are facing the ceiling, then reach down and grab onto the outsides of your feet.
3. Bring knees towards your armpits and try to press towards the floor.
4. Stick here for a few deep breaths before letting go, then straighten legs slowly to release.

Holding still (with a little swaying side to side), I can't help but picture a squirmy newborn rocking the same pose, smiling without a care in the world.
