Name
YogaFit
What it is
A type of yoga with a fitness twist taught in both heated and non-heated classrooms.
Why we love it
Rushing to yoga after work, we like having time to settle in before hopping into our first pose. That’s why we appreciate the extensive warm up offered during each YogaFit class, putting the emphasis on safe practice and setting the tone for the rest of the session. As the hatha-based class (specifically created to improve health and mental awareness) continues, we can feel the fusion of flexibility, balance and strength throughout every move. And as founder Beth Shaw promises, it’s a workout for “everybody and every body” – with gentle music to boot.
What to bring
Regular yoga attire, a towel and a water bottle.
We tested a YogaFit masterclass at GoodLife Fitness in Toronto (137 Yonge St.). More information at www.yogafitcanada.com.
