About Arren Williams
If Arren Williams were to walk through one of those new scanners at the airport, security personnel might be surprised to see chairs, tables and lamps floating around in his head. As one of Canada’s top stylists, editors and trend reporters, he is always on the hunt for the next great find that could take a room from blah to spectacular.
OMG, it's BTS!

West Elm Pratt Home Office collection
Funny, even though I don’t have kids of my own, I still feel a little panicked whenever those TV commercials advertising back-to-school gear start popping up. I guess it’s because the hot and steamy dog days of August happen in such slow motion that the idea of getting back on track – and completely organized – by the beginning of September feels like an absolute impossibility!
So pour yourself a nice, tall glass of lemonade (I won’t tell anyone if you spike it just a little), drop in a few ice cubes and let’s see if we can make the transition a wee bit easier.
At the top of my list of chic new back-to-school wants is the Pratt Home Office collection at West Elm. It’s a capsule collection of home-office essentials that came about from a collaboration between the students of the renowned Pratt Institute’s Pratt Design Incubator and the West Elm design team. The Pratt Desk is the line’s cornerstone piece and can work as either a desk or a dining table. Like the rest of the collection, it’s made of MDF and eucalyptus wood that is FSC certified (yay for the environment!). Oh, and I’m also loving the swank, minimal Pratt LED Table Lamp: it’s technology-forward, cost-efficient and designed to be easy on energy consumption. Cool!
