About Arren Williams
If Arren Williams were to walk through one of those new scanners at the airport, security personnel might be surprised to see chairs, tables and lamps floating around in his head. As one of Canada’s top stylists, editors and trend reporters, he is always on the hunt for the next great find that could take a room from blah to spectacular.

Virginia Johnson bedding
I don’t know about you, but I haven’t been getting nearly enough zzzzzzzz’s lately. Maybe it’s the heat, or maybe it’s the fact that I’m currently shooting Christmas features for magazines (imagine dressing a tree in steamy 33-degrees Celsius weather), but I have to tell you I’m practically having visions of falling head-first into a freshly made bed and snoozing for at least a week.
Canadian textiles designer and illustrator Virginia Johnson is about to step into the bedding business with the imminent launch of her new linens collection. You might know Virginia from her covetable printed scarves, or perhaps for her illustrations for the likes of Kate Spade, so do check out her website (she sells art prints, too) and her design studio blog. Her new line – block-printed by hand in India – fits seamlessly into her trademark colourful, painterly style and feels like a modern take on another fave textiles designer of mine, John Robshaw.
