About Arren Williams
If Arren Williams were to walk through one of those new scanners at the airport, security personnel might be surprised to see chairs, tables and lamps floating around in his head. As one of Canada’s top stylists, editors and trend reporters, he is always on the hunt for the next great find that could take a room from blah to spectacular.
Bring on the Colour
design diary: honeysuckle wallpaper canada
(Jan.05.11)

So today I spent much of my time hunting for wallpaper that looked like a library wall filled with old books. And, truth be told, I’m actually not going to be putting it on walls. Nope, it’ll be going on a couple of cube end tables and a desk for a TV set I’m working on that has a cool English gentleman’s club vibe.
Anyways, while on the hunt I ended up chatting with a guy I know who’s a talented wallpaper designer who (yay!) helped me find the perfect book-y
wallpaper, and then also said I should take a look at their latest design, called Wild One, since he knows I’m a sucker for colour and pattern. Wow, was all I could say. Not only is the pattern fantastically fun and a total pick-me-up for a dull wintry day, that pink is a spot on match for Pantone’s colour of the year for 2011, an intense hue called Honeysuckle. And Pantone, it must be said, are a complete colour authority . Last year they predicted Turquoise as the hot colour, and we’re still seeing it reverberating through home design and fashion.
So, what do you think about Honeysuckle? If you ask me I think hits of it will totally jazz up an interior, but I’m seeing it more as a colour to be dabbed around rather than covering every surface. Oh, and if you love Wild One, you’ll have to hold your horses a bit since it hasn’t quite been released yet. You’ll find it soon at fine wallpaper retailers across Canada in a Design By Color book called Colored Surfaces.
