About Arren Williams
If Arren Williams were to walk through one of those new scanners at the airport, security personnel might be surprised to see chairs, tables and lamps floating around in his head. As one of Canada’s top stylists, editors and trend reporters, he is always on the hunt for the next great find that could take a room from blah to spectacular.
Robot Chic
design diary: robot bedding canada
(Jan.19.11)

When it came to the ‘big design idea’ that would encapsulate the look of our recent house reno and design, my witty other half decided to try and stump me by saying he wanted it to look Robot Chic.
Errr, what??? He thought it would be hilariously cool if the house was completely lit inside and out with strobe lights and that we should wander around wearing helmets with LED displays flashing across the visors. In other words he wanted to be living in a Daft Punk music video. Well, that didn’t exactly happen in the end (I decided to ignore Mr. Witty) but I do always keep an eye out for retro robot designed bits and pieces whenever I can. That's why I was super jazzed to see the newly-launched Auggie kid’s bedding line from Augustina which – yes – includes a very cool print called Robot March.
Hmmm, I did say kid’s bedding line, though Auggie smartly offers the collection in sizes ranging from cot all the way up to queen, so I am in luck. All told the Canadian collection, designed by sisters Cristina and Genevieve Burgess, includes seven 100% cotton designs that can be mixed and matched to create a swanky customized look (yes, why can’t robots, horses and rabbits mix it up together on the same bed?). You can check out the collection at Auggie and KolKid in Toronto.
Auggie Bedding will be available online and in stores starting in February.
