About Arren Williams
If Arren Williams were to walk through one of those new scanners at the airport, security personnel might be surprised to see chairs, tables and lamps floating around in his head. As one of Canada’s top stylists, editors and trend reporters, he is always on the hunt for the next great find that could take a room from blah to spectacular.

I’m hoping to see lots of you out and about at the Interior Design Show, as well as wandering hither and yon for the Toronto International Design Festival. All the goings on will be an absolute feast for the visual senses! I might need to clone myself, there’s just so much to see...
I have a few highlights that are definite must-sees that include Sibling Revelry, this year’s designer spaces which have a family feel with folks like Sarah Richardson and her talented furniture designer brother Theo, and brothers Glen and David Dixon working together on a space.
My tip for seeing all the spaces is to make a beeline for the exhibit as soon as you get into the show, since there are always lines. I’m also jazzed about all the speakers coming into town, especially Allegra Hicks. Annointed “Queen of Kaftans” by Vogue, Ms. Hicks is a fashion designer and textile designer whose style has a fantastically chic ethnic feel inspired by her travels around the world (fave international spots for Allegra include both Delhi and Naples. How’s that for contrasts?). You can catch her on Saturday, January 29 in conversation with the Globe and Mail's Amy Verner. And you’ll be seeing more of Allegra Hicks over the next while, since she’s just debuted a book Allegra Hicks: An Eye For Design and will soon be launching a capsule collection with one of my favourite stores – West Elm .
For even more design-related fun at the Interior Design Show don’t forget you can get also Up Close + Personal with style maven Cobi Ladner (the former editor of Canadian House and Home Magazine is launching a decor line next month) on Saturday, January 29 at 1 p.m., and then on Sunday, January 30 at 1 p.m., you can Up Close + Personal with me!
Thought that was sweet? You'll enjoy:
