About Arren Williams
If Arren Williams were to walk through one of those new scanners at the airport, security personnel might be surprised to see chairs, tables and lamps floating around in his head. As one of Canada’s top stylists, editors and trend reporters, he is always on the hunt for the next great find that could take a room from blah to spectacular.

I was recently in NYC checking out all the happenings during New York Design Week, as well as noodling through the always too-cool-for-school International Contemporary Furniture Fair, and I hafta tell you it was both exhausting and inspiring all at the same time. So much to see and so much to do!
One place that’s always on my must-see list in New York is the famous ABC Carpet & Home, an absolute behemoth of a store filled to the brim with gear that would suit just about any decor personality out there. From trad-all-the-way to mod, ABC has got it covered. It’s also a place that can spark great ideas and get the old gray matter working, which is why I was completely gobsmacked by this massive plate wall.
Now obviously most of you (me included) don’t have 18’ ceilings and a 30’ long wall just begging for something as grand as this, but it doesn’t mean you can’t pull this concept into your own place.
So think of painting a wall – or better yet, a whole room – in black or navy, and then try smothering one wall with vintage plates and maybe a mirror or two. I bet you it’ll look fantastic!
