About Arren Williams
If Arren Williams were to walk through one of those new scanners at the airport, security personnel might be surprised to see chairs, tables and lamps floating around in his head. As one of Canada’s top stylists, editors and trend reporters, he is always on the hunt for the next great find that could take a room from blah to spectacular.
Pillow Talk
design diary: pretty punk pillows canada
(May.25.11)

I got to work with sewing specialist Terry Edward Briceland a while back on CityLine and, despite the tattoos, I have to say that he definitely knows his way around a needle and thread. Terry – who’s work you’ve seen on shows like Divine Design – recently opened up a custom sewing studio TEB Interiors inside Design Republic, a design store on Toronto’s Queen West.
He does everything from design consultations to screen-printed upholstered headboards (and just about everything in between). On top of all that, he also has his own line of pillows, which definitely veer to the edgier side of things.
Take a boo at the pic above of his Big Viv pillow, which feels inspired by punk, fashion queen Vivienne Westwood’s iconic designs. Yes, it’s a white damask print over top of a bright silk tartan, but if that isn’t enough look closer and you’ll see skulls hidden in the design.
A quick peek at the rest of his line and you’ll discover inkblots, zippers and fur, vintage pinups, cartoons, and patchwork flags. Uh huh, definitely not a traditional view of design, and just the thing to wake up a boring old beige sofa.
Thought that was sweet? You'll enjoy:
