Native Treasures

Products tagged handmade have always held certain cache for us. We love the unique handmade jewellery we brought back from last year's trip to Morocco and our elaborately embroidered halter dress from Thailand hangs proudly next to our Montreal thrift-store find in our closet. Now, we're pushing aside our generic lotions and creams to make room on our bathroom shelf for brand new Sequoia Native Inspired Bath & Body products from Kahnawake.
Discovered in their new Montreal store on McKay Street, we were immediately attracted to the line's rainbow bright colours and soothing scents. And not only do their soaps ($7.50), lotions ($7.50 - $15.50), sugar scrubs ($12), bath bombs ($6 - $9) and candles ($12 - $19.50) - all inspired by Native legends and herbs - smell and feel good, but they're made from renewable (and edible) ingredients.
We succumbed to the sweetness of Beautiful Day body mist ($6 - $8) and generously applied our newly purchased cinnamon lipgloss ($7.50), flavoured with spicy cassia.
Perhaps spring cleaning should come early this year. After all, we need the space to accommodate more of these new handmade treasures.
