In this five week series, our expert organizer Barbara Sidoruk will help organize your home from top to bottom. This week, we tackle the bathroom.
Bathrooms are impossible to keep clean if they are cluttered. Surfaces need to be clear in order to be wiped down regularly or you will end up with mold and mildew.
- Go through all of your products and keep only what you use everyday in the bathroom on the counter.
- Store everything else away in clear containers. Use a caddy or clear stackable shoe boxes to store like products together. Divide them by hair products, cosmetics, medication, etc. If you don’t have room under your sink, keep these in a bedroom or linen closet.
- You don’t have to keep bathroom cleaning supplies in the bathroom. Keep them in a central location in the house with other household supplies.
- Add hooks to the back of your door for extra towels and bathrobes.
- UMBRA has a selection of shower caddies that have suction cups and work well on tiled and glass surfaces.
- A tension pole corner shower caddy offers a lot of extra storage and can be purchased at most home improvement centres.
- Go through all those half empty bottles and “samples” in your shower. You know you’ve had them for an eternity, so throw them out!
