For a movie marathon, popcorn is always a savory staple, but if you're craving sweet not salty, these mini "popcorn" cupcakes are the perfect alternative. I discovered this idea in Hello, Cupcake! -- a book that`s filled with fun ways to decorate your cupcakes (and it doesn`t judge if you just want to bake from a box and frost from a tub)!
What You'll Need
Popcorn containers (available at Dollarama)
1 recipe for vanilla cupcakes
1 recipe for vanilla icing
1 bag of multicoloured mini marshmallows
Mini-cupcake or mini-muffin tray
Tissue paper
Directions
1. Bake mini-cupcakes according to recipe.
2. Ice with vanilla frosting.
3. Create popcorn effect using yellow mini-marshmallows.
4. Wash and dry popcorn container and fill bottom half with tissue paper.
5. Place popcorn cupcakes on top (about 8 should fit in each container).
Tip: Fill some containers with popcorn cupcakes and others with traditional popcorn. Let each guest choose based on their craving.
