How To Brie
make-it session canada
(Oct.09.09)
A few weeks ago my favourite neighbours -- and friends -- moved away. Not far, but far enough that I have to put shoes on to get to their new, gorgeous, home. So when they invited my husband and me over for afternoon wine and cheese to check out their new place, I knew it was the perfect reason I'd been looking for to buy this Brie Baker by Wildly Delicious we featured a last week. For cheese lovers, it's a perfect hostess or housewarming gift, especially when you personalize it by making the dish ahead of time!
What You'll Need
Brie Baker by Wildly Delicious
Round of Brie
Two pears
Fresh thyme
Tiny notecard
Ribbon or twine
Directions
1. Peel and thinly slice pears, then place in a single layer on a generously buttered baking sheet. Roast in 425°F oven for 15 minutes or until pears are caramelized and golden.
2. While pears are roasting, wash and dry the Brie Baker.
3. Place a round of Brie in the Brie Baker. Arrange caramelized pears in a circle on top of cheese. Refrigerate uncovered for up to half a day.
4. Tie bunch of thyme with twine or ribbon and place inside Brie Baker on top of pears.
5. On a pretty notecard, write the following instructions for your hostess:
When ready to serve, heat in a preheated 350°F oven 10 to 12 minutes or until softened. Sprinkle with thyme and serve with fresh baguette or crackers. Enjoy!
7. Punch hole in notecard and tie to serving spoon with ribbon.
