Admit it: You love getting gift cards, but when it comes to giving them, you always feel guilty -- as though you haven't put thought into the gift when you have! Gift cards are a great way to help give the item you really want to give, but perhaps can't afford (Marc Jacobs bag for your BFF?), or aren't sure which style the recipient would prefer.
Here are a few ideas on how to wrap your gift that keeps on giving.
For the baker:
Slip a gift card that your mom can put toward a KitchenAid mixer or other baking supplies inside a pretty jar. Fill it with white sugar, tie a bow and attach a cookie cutter or mini spatula.
For the coffee lover:
Get a gift card that can be used on a deluxe single-serve coffee maker and put it inside a pretty mug.
For the photographer:
Put a gift card that can be used towards a camera or other photography equipment inside a picture frame.
For the traveller:
Slip the gift card between the pages of a travel guide.
For the shopaholic:
Tuck a giftcard for a new handbag inside a purse-shaped greeting card.
For the film buff:
Fill a popcorn container with popcorn and stick a movie card he can use at the theatre or video store. Want to make the gift extra sweet? Fill the container with these popcorn-looking mini cupcakes!
For the person who hates gift cards:
Get a small envelope (that looks like it would hold a gift card). Inside, write a clue that will lead the recipient to his actual gift -- hidden somewhere in the house!
For the unexpected guest:
Slip the gift card inside a candy bag and fill with your favourite chocolates, then tie with a bow. Make a few and keep them on hand in case an unexpected visitor shows up around the holidays!
What do you think: do you like to give and receive gift cards?
