Love Note

make-it session canada (Feb.05.10)

If love is all about giving from the heart, not your wallet, then there’s no better gift than a handmade Valentine’s day card. This heart-themed card uses a technique called “quilling.” It looks fancy but is super easy to do!

What You’ll Need
Three colours of scrap paper in various shades of pink, red or white. Tip: you can even use Post-it notes.
1 piece of cardstock
1 envelope
Scissors
Double-sided tape or glue
Cotton swab or toothpick

Directions
1. Cut your scrap paper so that you have nine equal-length strips of paper.

2. Fold each strip in half (if the paper is coloured on only one side, make sure that side faces out).

3. Using the cotton swab or toothpick, roll one half of the strip in toward the fold.

4. Repeat this step on the other side. You should now have heart shape.

5. Place a dab of glue or tape on the card and affix the heart.

6. Repeat until you have as many hearts as you desire.
