About Chantel Simmons
Some girls dream of walk-in shoe closets. Chantel dreams of walk-in craft closets. A former crafter for HGTV, Chantel's now sharing her project plans with you. Check back every Friday as she offers up an easy-to-make or easy-to-bake craft you can give to a friend or keep for yourself.
Looking for a project that upcycles trash into treasure? This one’s for you. I got inspired to make this project last weekend when I was visiting my dad and stepmom and spotted it in their place—turns out they may be craftier than me! (Or maybe they’re just bigger wine drinkers?)
Either way, I think this stylish message board would look amazing if you have a basement bar in your house, or just want to infuse a bit of personality into your cubicle at work.

What You’ll Need
About 125 wine corks
Glue gun
Old picture frame (remove the glass and matting)
Directions
1. Glue the backing to the frame to keep in place.
2. Working your way from the outside of the frame toward the middle, place the corks in rows, varying pattern, colour, sizes and shapes.
3. Once you’re satisfied with your pattern, remove one cork at a time, place a dab of glue on the back of frame, and replace the cork.
Tip: Avoid plastic corks – not only do they look unauthentic, but they won’t hold push pins.
