Spice Route

make-it session canada (Jun.18.10)

Channel your inner child this Father’s Day with a homemade gift for Dad. This spice rub is super-simple to make and will complement whatever your father (or  hubby) throws on the barbecue. It might even inspire him to cook his own Father’s Day dinner (hint, hint)!

What you’ll need:

1/4 cup coarse salt
1/8 cup packed light-brown sugar
4 tbsp paprika 2 tbsp ground black pepper
2 tbsp dried oregano
2 tbsp dried thyme
Dash of cayenne pepper
Mason jars
Labels

Directions:

In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well. Spoon into three small jars or one medium-sized jar. Add a personalized label and a small scoop. Spice rub can be stored in an airtight container for up to six months.
