Crafternoon Tea
make-it session canada
(Jul.09.10)

Who doesn’t love a spot of tea and cookies as a comforting midday treat? Package the two together for a homemade gift that’s straight from the heart.
What you’ll need:
Pretty box
Coloured paper (in a few different shades)
Parchment paper
Selection of tea bags
Favourite cookie recipe
Ribbon or twine
Scissors
Glue gun
Directions:
- Choose an assortment of tea bags (I like Tea Forte because the bags are so unique).
- Fold the coloured paper, then cut out a leaf shape (making sure one edge of the leaf is the fold).
- Write the type of tea on one side of the leaf.
- Remove the original tea-bag tag and slip your tag over the end of the string.
- Add a dab of glue to secure in place.
- Using your favourite recipe, bake a batch of cookies.
- Line the box with parchment paper, then fill one half with tea bags and the other half with cookies.
- Tie the box with ribbon or twine.
Tips:
Try these tea and cookie combinations: lemon tea and shortbread, vanilla rooibos tea and oatmeal raisin cookies, or chai tea and gingersnaps.
For extra impact, colour-code your tags. You can use yellow for lemon tea, green for green tea, and orange for ginger tea.
