Ange and Pax let us in on some of their favourite bottles to savour with friends

Ménage à Trois Red 2007 ($19.95)
This Napa Valley wine just launched in February and is made from a blend of three different grape varieties (cabernet sauvignon, merlot and zinfandel). It's medium to full-bodied with hints of blackberry and raspberry jam. Pair with beef, mixed cheese plates, chocolate or enjoy on its own. –Angela Aiello

Chandon Sparkling Wine NV ($22.95)
Don't wait for a special occasion to open this bottle of salmon pink bubbly. Not only is it the perfect way to start or end an evening, but it’s a steal of a deal. Relatively light and refreshing with mild yeast notes that give it some body, serve it with oysters, appetizers or cheese. -AA

Schmitt Söhne Relax Riesling NV ($11.95)
This bottle is from Germany where Riesling tends to be much sweeter than that produced in Ontario, British Columbia or California. It has a sweet backbone, but is very pleasant on the palate. Try it with a citrus salad to bring out the sweetness. –AA

Cline Ancient Vines 2007 Zinfandel ($19.95)
I was introduced to a bunch of fantastic zinfandels on a recent trip to California and I developed a newfound enthusiasm for this unique grape. This particular wine is medium to full-bodied with complex flavours of black cherry, spice, oak and ripe red fruit. Its smooth, elegant finish keeps you coming back for more. –Paxton Allewell

Familia Zuccardi 2007 Fuzion Shiraz Malbec ($7.45)
A blend of Shiraz and Malbec (Argentina’s signature) grapes, this wine is an unbelievable value! It showcases ripe, rich, dark fruit flavours and has complexity that rivals wines twice its price. You might consider stocking up on this one by the case. -PA
