Spring seems to be the ideal time to take on renovations, but I don’t want to pause for the entire winter. What projects should I schedule for November to March?

Spring can be an ideal time for a renovation, but if you’re only doing work on the inside of the house then you're not restricted by weather. The colder months are actually an ideal time to enlist a contractor for interior work because the warmer months tend to be busier and many of the more popular contractors may not be available then.
In my opinion, the best months to do major or exterior work on a house are the milder months when not too much heating or cooling is required. As well, when the temperature drops you don’t want the windows and doors left open because it will be difficult to maintain a constant temperature inside. You don’t want the heating bill to become another major expense of the renovation.
If you’re planning a minor or major renovation and you don’t want to pause for the winter, bathrooms and kitchens are ideal interior projects. You should try and get the demolition work done before the really cold weather sets in so that you have room inside for materials and tools. Winter is also an ideal time to start planning for major spring renovations.
