Why it’s sweet: Nothing says ‘thank you’ like a special comestible, so we’re presenting our host with a jar of Canadian-made artisanal preserves. Turkish Fig & Walnut Wine is just one stand-out flavour from Vista D’oro—a company in British Columbia that makes their preserves in copper pots, using only in-season fruit and homemade ingredients. Other great flavours to try are Rhubarb & Vanilla and Blueberry & Bourbon. Our host can enjoy them on scones, in crepes or use them as a marinade (hopefully we’ll be invited then, too).
