First off, I am super sorry I missed posting last week. I was crazy busy on set for the new design show I am working on. I can’t wait until it airs. I know you are all going to love it!
This week, I thought I would share some of my favourite new inspirations and finds, from furniture to frames, these design-finds and locations are great style starting points for home décor. I am always looking (scouting) for visual inspiration, I gather the images I take and use them for reference when I am putting design boards or rooms together. Creating a visual databank is essential for all stylists, designers and anyone who likes to decorate and create.
In addition to having and building on a personal visual databank (which means you’ll need to travel with a camera 24-7), a good stylist, designer or decorator always has few essential tools on hand too; a tape measure (to make sure that sofa will fit through the door), a notepad and sharpie (for quick notes and sketches) and a colour deck from your favourite paint supplier (this helps when shopping for fabric so you can see if there's a colour that complements the fabric before you buy). Tip: It’s easier to match or complement paint to a pre-selected fabric, than the other way around. Trust me, have these items in your purse or tote and you’ll find “scouting” for a space becomes easier!
Here are a few recent additions to my visual databank I thought you might like!

I love this space (Corner Suite Bistro Deluxe). The glossy tabletop, use of black, leather touches and of course the ultra-modern bright blue chairs… talk about pop!

Picture walls really add dimension to a room. And this one at The Cross is edgy and a bit rustic. It makes me want to add even more pictures to my space!

Objects inspired by nature and mixed with a touch of quirk are a big trend for spring. I found these ceramic fish at Urban Barn. I would use them on an entryway table or sofa table.

I really think pink is the new black! This pink chandelier I spotted at Society Dining Lounge makes me want to grab a can of spray paint and add some colour punch to an old, tired looking ceiling fixture.
