About Jes Watson
For editor Jes Watson, happiness is a perfectly poached egg, a vase filled with fresh-cut peonies — or just getting out of dishes duty. From furnishing and decorating her new house to hosting the perfect dinner party, she shares a slice of her domestic adventures with you each week.

Are you as obsssed with Pinterest as I am?
I never fully realized it before, but it turns out that I actually browse a lot of websites with the following mantra coursing through my head: "I want that, I want that, I want that, I want that annnnnnddd.... I want that."
With a click of the mouse (or, um, err, pin of the board), Pinterest lets me turn that "want" into "get" — and all without reaching for my wallet or sapping my bank account.
It's hard to express just how awesome it is to collect these little scraps of internet inspiration in one concrete place. It's like being a kid with a sticker album, or a teenager with a collage wall curated from a bunch of magazines. It scratches that hunter/gatherer itch that exists in any shop-happy gal.
The next step is, of course, taking that inspiration and actually doing something with it. So I'm sharing my first foray into pin-spiration with this gradated layer cake that I made for my daughter's birthday. From Pinboard to table, it was a smashing success — even if I was working from a photograph and not a recipe.
What's my next pin-project? Painting a door neon. How cool is that?
I want to know: What have you been pinning these days? Oh, and by the way, have you checked out our sweetspot.ca Pinterest page yet? It's a one-stop shop of covetable pics just waiting to be liked and re-pinned.
Catch you on the boards!
