The Skinny on Sucrella

The Inspiration: It's no secret we like to indulge in the sweeter things in life, but we're not completely blind to our health either (thanks to SweetFit!).

When PC Sucrella — a calorie-free sucralose sweetener — made its way to our office, we thought what better way to marry our sweet tooth with our quest for a healthy new year? The only catch was whether our discerning palate would deem the cookies sweet enough, so we held a taste test to find out.

The Test: We baked two delicious batches of chocolate chip cookies using this recipe. Sucrella was easy to use as a substitute because it measures one to one with regular sugar, despite being calorie-free.

Then we asked our control group (or, you know, co-workers) to eat one of each cookie and say which one they liked the best.

Could the PC-brand brown sugar-substitute stand in for a real cup of sugar? Read on to find our results.
