Chocolate Fondue

nutritious recipescanada (Feb.09.09)

Fresh fruit pieces – try strawberry, blueberry, mango, pear, pineapple, banana, and kiwi. Keep whole or cut into pieces and chill in fridge.
250-300g/8-10oz dark chocolate (minimum 70% cocoa solids) organic if possible
1/3 cup whipping cream (optional)
Wooden skewers

If not adding whipping cream - break chocolate into pieces in a stainless steel or heat safe glass bowl and set over a saucepan of hot (not boiling) water (bottom of bowl should not touch water) Leave to melt stirring occasionally.

If using cream - bring whipping cream to a simmer in a heavy medium saucepan. Reduce heat to low and add chopped chocolate; whisk until mixture is smooth. Transfer chocolate to fondue pot.

Keep warm in a fondue pot over a tea light while you dip in fruit and enjoy!
