I knew I wanted to create a cool frame wall in my new apartment, but I didn’t want to limit myself to only prints/paintings. I decided to use a couple of objects I had already that could be incorporated in the frame wall by hanging them on the wall and then hanging a frame around them. I love how it helped create texture and interest to the wall!
What you’ll need:
-An object that can be hung on the wall
-Any frame that will fit the above object (you can spray paint it like I did if you wish)
-Nails
-Hooks for larger objects or frames
Directions:
1. Spray paint your frame if it requires a new colour.
2. Attach the hanging hardware on the back of the frame and object if required.
3. Hang the frame on the wall using nails. Next, hang your object in the centre of your frame.
How to create a frame wall:
* Measure the space on the wall where all of your frames will be going.
* Using the wall measurements, tape out an area on your floor.
* Arrange your frames in the taped off area and play around with the layout. Be sure to snap some photos as you go along so you can reference them while you make the final layout decision.
* Once you’re happy with an arrangement, you can start nailing into your wall!
Tips:
- Frames that are the same colour tend to look best.
- Choose art pieces that have a similar colour story.
- Create interest by using different sized frames.
