Make a Monochrome Masterpiece
handmade with style: shadow art canada
(Nov.11.11)

I love the impact that is made when art is hung together in a series. I decided to create some art using a negative and positive look with stencils. The entire project only took me 15 minutes!
You'll Need:
White and black acrylic craft paint
White and black textured (or plain) cardstock paper
Stencil boarder -- Martha Stewart has some great options
Sea sponge
Piece of cardboard or paper plate
Masking tape
2 frames
Directions:
1. Decide on your pattern.
2. Use the masking tape to secure your stencil in place on your paper.
3. Pour the paint on the piece of cardboard or paper plate. Dip the sea sponge in the paint and dab away the excess.
4. Dab the sponge along your stencil being sure to cover it in well with the paint.
5. Carefully pull away your stencil and set the paper aside to dry.
6. Repeat this with the opposite colours and opposite side (to give a mirrored effect).
