The end of summer is always tough for me, especially so when I’m not entirely sure it arrived in the first place. Luckily this week we’re showcasing some of the new and continuing trends for fall décor so I plan to console myself with a little retail therapy that will cozy up my condo (not to mention my wardrobe, thanks Sweetspot).
Here’s what I’ll be shopping for…

Easy Update
Maybe I’ll try sewing new covers for my pillows (my fail safe when it comes to trying new colours and patterns). Maybe…
Ginsberg Lemon, $10 (per yard). Available at Tonic Living.

Flower Power
I’m keeping things light in the bedroom with these vintage-inspired cotton curtains.
Floral Whimsy Curtain, $34. Available at Urban Outfitters.

Rugged
I’ve been on the lookout for an area rug since T. and I moved into our condo. Thinking this classic design might be the one.
Basic Border Contemporary Decorator Rug, $400. Available at Sears.

Count On It
With all the cooking going on in my kitchen these days I’ve come to realize my countertop could use a serious upgrade.
Silestone Expo Grey, $78/ft. Available at Home Depot.

Slow Food
I’m so glad nestling is in. I’m all about one-pot, make-ahead, slow-cooked dinners – easy entertaining at its finest.
Cuisinart Slow Cooker, $109. Available at www.cookworks.ca.
