OK. The long weekend is over. It’s time to face facts. The summer is over and it’s time to say goodbye to mojitos, my staple warm-weather cocktail. It makes me sad but something tells me taste testing my way to a new fall favourite won’t be so bad.
I’m thinking about spiked coffee and hot chocolate (Baileys, I love you) on crisp afternoons. I can almost taste spicy mulled wine and hot apple cider with rum. Not to mention, less saucey sips such as herbal teas with honey and frothy vanilla lattes. Is there anything nicer than warming up with a hot drink on a cool autumn afternoon?
Of course, thinking like this also lets me indulge in my latest obsession, clear glass mugs. They might be boring to some but I’m drawn to their simplicity and I love how just the right shape can turn such a humble object into a thing of beauty to me.
I just can’t resist them. In fact, I’m thinking of clearing some cupboard space for some of these borosilicate* beauties below.
