Best of 2009

sarah's space canada (Dec.30.09)

What an amazing year it has been for me at sweetspot.ca! I joined the team at the end of 2008 to plan the launch of SweetHome and as of March 2009 the site was up and running. It has been an amazing journey so far and I hope you have been enjoying the ride, too. To wrap up 2009, I wanted to share a few of my favourite columns from the year gone by. It was hard to choose with so many worthy options in the archives but I think I've been able to narrow it down to five.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank you, our loyal readers, for reading and sharing your comments and feedback with us. SweetHome wouldn't be the success it is today with out you. We so appreciate each and every one of you and look forward to having more fun in 2010!

Don't see your personal favourite in my list? Tell me what you loved most in the comments below. As always I love to hear from you.

Trend Watching

When we launched the site in March, we set the tone by being both helpful and inspirational with our 2009 Trend Guide.

What's Cooking

As you all know I love to cook so it was hard not to chose every menu as my favourite but I decided that if I had to choose David Rocco's Dolce Vita has been the most memorable for me.

Testing, Testing

Following in the footsteps of our SweetLife counterpart, my team launched it's first Test Lab column this month and we tried three specialty coffee makers so that you can be Be Your Own Barista.

Spotted

One of our favourite columns to produce for is our top five round ups, even better is when we can showcase a new national shop or service such as Ziggy's At Home.

Eco Chic

Since we know you are consumers with a conscience (just like us), we're committed to bringing you green living options whenever we can. A 2009 standout for me on the eco front was the launch of Farrow & Ball's Zero VOC line.
