As Sam said it seems totally cliché to talk resolutions but I also can’t resist. For me the New Year always comes with new goals and I relish the opportunity to make a fresh start. Here are a few things on my radar for 2010.
1. I’m going to try something new every week. Be it an experiment in the kitchen, taking a class or simply resolving to say hello to a stranger, I am planning to expand my horizons in 2010.
2. Anyone who knows me will tell you I’m practical so, of course, at least one of my goals has to be too. I am going to get my taxes done well before the deadline this year. In fact, I think I will aim for the end of January to truly avoid the rush.
3. Thanks to Home Depot my kitchen mini-makeover resolution happened before 2009 was out (full details to come next week) so now I’m planning to spend more time in my kitchen cooking healthy meals. Part of this commitment means sticking to the periphery aisles only at the grocery store.
4. Since moving into my condo almost two years ago my walls have remained mostly bare. When it comes to artwork, I just don’t know where to start. This year I am going to figure it out. I will make an appointment with Alison Goodwin founder of Art Beyond Walls to help get me started and then I’m going to boldly choose paintings and photos I love and hang them with confidence.
5. Speaking of the condo, I also have another makeover on the horizon with a hard deadline of May 2010 for completion. T. and my little family of two will be growing to three in June so we need to transform our spare room from storage space to a nursery STAT. Obviously this is the resolution/project I’m most excited about so somehow I don’t think I’ll have any problem stroking this one off my list.
