So how did the renovations go? Amazing! One of the best things about living the condo life is concierge services. On day one (Wednesday) the contractor came to our condo to disconnect our water and removed our existing countertop, sink and faucet. Our concierge let him in after we left for work and by the time we got home everything was removed and there was no mess whatsoever for us to deal with.

On day two (Friday), it was the same oh-so-simple story. I left for work in the morning and by the time I arrived home at 5pm I had a brand new kitchen to cook in. The whole process literally couldn’t have been easier for T. and I. There were absolutely no problems and more importantly never any messes left behind. It was almost magical how it happened.

And we could not love the results of our mini-makeover more! The Silestone counter looks even better than I had imagined it would and so far it is standing up to all of my amateur chef tests (I’ve cut on it and set hot pots down). As for the sink, I don’t know how I did without it. First of all, having an undermount sink totally makes sense with my OCD for wiping the counter. No more grime under the sink rim, hallelujah! The sink it also so deep I could stack a week’s worth of dirty dishes in, not that I ever would (OCD remember). And the faucet is stunning, as you can see, and super functional with its pivoting spout.

T. and I couldn’t be happier with the results of our mini-makeover and all of the entertaining we’ve been doing over the last few weeks is a true testament to that. Now I can’t wait to get back into recipe testing mode so I can show my kitchen off to you every week. Only one decision remains, what should I cook for you first? (Share your recipe suggestions in the comments section below and Sarah will get to work.)
