Here at SweetHome, my job is to help you make yourself more comfortable at home. It’s my pleasure every day but in the wake of the tragedy that has hit the country of Haiti, I can’t help but give thanks for the simple four walls around me and the roof over my head. I might often complain that my home is a work-in-progress but today, with a new world perspective, it feels perfect to me.
I figured many of you might also be experiencing similar feelings of gratitude and beyond that, strong desires of wanting to help. The good news is there’s no better time than the present to give since the Canadian government has committed to matching all donations up to a maximum of $50 million made before Feb. 12. I’ve rounded up a list of some “experienced humanitarian organizations” that you can donate to and hope you will be inspired to give generously what you are able. Perhaps you can put off that renovation just a little longer?
