Nothing makes me happier than when March enters like a lion because that means it will be exiting like a lamb and spring's on the way. Here are five things that are hitting my sweet spot this month and helping me to keep my patience as I wait for winter to end.

Brighten Up
Pantone has declared turquoise to be 2010's colour of the year and I'm jumping on the bandwagon. Look for us to bring you our favourite accents in this colour later this month, plus find out what other trends we're excited about when we reveal our Trend Guide on March 15

Red Carpet Watch
The 82nd Oscars take place on March 7 and I'm hoping to hand out sweet statuette cookies (a la Bakerella) as takeaways when my party's over. Of course the evening will feature yummy hors d’oeuvres from our Oscar Party Menu too.

Springing Ahead
March 14 is Daylight Savings Time and since I'll be losing an hour of sleep I'm treating myself to new clock (Versa Self Adhesive Clock, $65, available at Urban Barn).

Luck of the Irish
Though I won't be able to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with green beer this year, I do plan to pay tribute to the Green Isle by making a hearty traditional Irish feast. |

Tapped Out
It's sugar bush season in Ontario and I'm hoping to head to north to tap a few trees personally. Look for a recipe test blog on making maple syrup this month. Stay tuned!
