In spite of our best retail attempts, we’re unlikely to hit our goal of one million Membership Rewards points on our AMEX without a little luck. But help is on its way with American Express Canada giving away 1,000,000 Membership Rewards points to one lucky Cardmember.
Starting October 31st, it’s as easy as going on Facebook (like we don’t do that on a regular basis) to the Points tab on the American Express Canada page. There, we are happy to fill out a form for the chance to win weekly prizes and be automatically entered into the Million Points Giveaway draw taking place on Dec. 12. Because the prizes are awarded weekly, it makes good sense to up the odds by entering every week (thus justifying our social media addiction). Plus, the weekly prizes will also be available to Cardmembers who earn Membership Rewards at significant discounts through membershiprewards.ca.
And in case you were unaware of the awesomeness that is the Membership Rewards program, here’s a little refresher. Membership Rewards offers amazing variety in consumer loyalty options, including our favourite, the tres cool Samba Days that allows Cardmembers to redeem their Membership Rewards points for unique experiences such as wine tours, bungee jumping and gourmet getaways.
How do we get more Membership Rewards points, you ask? With the Gold Rewards card we earn two Membership Rewards points for every dollar spent in Card purchases at grocery stores, gas stations, travel outlets and drug stores (yes, yes, we shop at these places quite often) and one Membership Rewards point for every dollar spent in Card purchases everywhere else. Oh, and did we mention that we can redeem points for the weekly prize giveaways at a reduced point level?
So it’s true – good deeds (and smart shopping) really are rewarded.
