It's been an adventurous summer for shopping, from sale-rack diving excursions for end-of-season goodness to off-the-beaten-path discoveries of Canadian entrepreneurs (who we're oh so happy to support).
Our treasure-hunting highlight: Newfoundland based Jumping Bean Coffee, with its roasted-to-order coffee, world-class smattering of teas and a rare collection of balsamic vinegars, pasta sauces and other culinary goodies.
Fair-trade Black Chai Tea ($5.95) and Egyptian Cammomile (with the sweet cost of $8.25) were our instant favourites. And when patio days end and dinner parties kindly grace our calendar, we'll definitely be chefing it up with such finds as the Rustichella d'Abruzzo Fettuccini ($5.90) and Minasso Basil in Olive Oil ($10.20).
We’re all too aware that if summer flew by this fast it won't be long before we are adding 'Holiday Shopping' to our 'To-Do' lists. We’ll be keeping JBC in mind for our foodie friends and coffee geek pals, or anyone with a discerning palate. (Note to self: They do gift baskets.)
As for us, we're just thrilled with a discovery that promises dozens of ways to keep us entertained, caffeinated and inspired this fall.
